Clubs, Sports & Activities FAQs
How do Insight School of Washington (ISWA) students socialize?
Even though ISWA is an online school, we recognize the importance of offering field trips and other in-person activities. These events support an authentic public school experience that both teaches and socializes students.
In addition, many courses provide opportunities for students to interact with each other through discussion threads and "virtual classrooms" where they collaborate and communicate through two-way voice over IP, instant messaging, and application sharing.
Students have told us that they build great relationships through the community-building opportunities we provide.
Does ISWA hold dances and a graduation ceremony?
Yes. ISWA holds a prom and a graduation ceremony. Students at all grade levels are invited to attend our annual prom. ISWA's commencement ceremony is held in June. November, March, and June graduates are encouraged to attend with guests (family and friends).
Can students participate in athletics and other extracurricular activities?
We encourage students to speak with their resident school district regarding the possibility of participating in athletics and extracurricular activities.
ISWA staff members offer several clubs for our students, such as the Prom Planning Committee, Young Parents group, and Life Happens. And K12 offers national online student clubs for all students.
