How Trimester Schedules Help High School Students Get Back On Track

With various life circumstances impacting academic progress, our flexible trimester schedule offers an innovative approach for high school students to regain momentum in their educational journey to help them graduate on time.

Trimesters divide the school year into three distinct segments rather than the traditional two semesters. This means students have three opportunities during their school year to start fresh with a new set of courses, allowing them to accelerate their learning or recover credits more efficiently. This trimester system is designed to help students avoid the overwhelming backlog of missed assignments and courses that often occur in traditional school schedules, offering instead, a streamlined way to focus on fewer subjects over a shorter period of time.

One of our 10th graders says: “Sometimes I fall behind on assignments… and before I joined Insight Washington this would snowball and I’d feel overwhelmed quickly. Trimesters allow me to take less classes at a time. I am able to better balance school, friends, and family – and I am also hoping to graduate early…”
