Leadership, Learning, and Success: How Victoria is Making an Impact at Insight School of Washington

At Insight School of Washington, students are proving that online education doesn’t limit opportunities, it expands them. One shining example is Victoria, an ambitious middle school student whose dedication to business and leadership has earned her national recognition.
This year, Insight School of Washington’s Middle Level chapter of Business Professionals of America (BPA) was recognized as an outstanding chapter in the 2024-2025 Virtual Events. With record registration numbers in all fifteen national virtual events, competition was fierce. However, Victoria and her teammates, Za’Mari and Cody, rose to the challenge. Their hard work and commitment paid off when their Social Media Marketing Campaign Team secured a spot as a top ten finalist in the V12 event. As a result, Victoria and her team have been invited to the prestigious 2025 BPA National Leadership Conference (NLC) in Orlando, Florida, taking place from May 7-11.
For Victoria, this achievement is not just about recognition, it’s about growth, learning, and new experiences. “I’m very excited to go to Orlando,” she shares. “I’ll get to attend workshops and learn from professionals in different industries. It’s a huge opportunity.”
Victoria’s journey in online education through Insight School of Washington began in sixth grade after being homeschooled and attending another virtual school. Now, she is in the eighth grade and thriving at Insight School of Washington, where she has taken on leadership roles, including serving as Vice President of the Associate Student Body (ASB). Her school days are structured yet flexible, allowing her to balance academics, extracurricular activities, and personal interests. A typical day for Victoria includes morning lessons in core subjects like science, English, math, and history, followed by club activities and art classes at noon.
Beyond BPA, Victoria has been involved in SkillsUSA, where she has participated in competitions and even designed graphics for events. She is also passionate about environmental initiatives, such as planting roses for Earth Day.
Victoria’s experience proves that online education can be both socially enriching and academically empowering. While her connections with classmates are primarily virtual, she’s built meaningful friendships through engaging in school clubs and in-person events like state testing meetups. For Victoria, online learning offers the best of both worlds, flexibility to learn at her own pace and plenty of opportunities to get involved, collaborate, and connect.
“Some people think online school means you don’t have structure or opportunities, but that’s not true at all,” Victoria says. “I’ve been able to join clubs, take leadership roles, and compete in national competitions. There’s so much available if you take advantage of it.”

As she prepares for the BPA National Leadership Conference, Victoria remains focused on her future. While she’s still exploring her career options, her interests in business, technology, and leadership continue to shape her aspirations. Outside of academics, she enjoys playing badminton, baseball, biking, and hiking, activities that balance her busy schedule with fun and relaxation.
Victoria’s story is a testament to the opportunities available at Insight School of Washington. Her dedication, leadership, and passion for learning inspire those around her, proving that online students can achieve just as much, if not more, than their peers in traditional school settings.
As she heads to Orlando to compete at the national level, the Insight School of Washington community stands behind her, cheering her on every step of the way. Congratulations, Victoria!
